In this first task for my AS course, we had to work in groups of 4. I worked with Lana, Katie and Malcolm. The task was to produce a short video to promote the school to potential new students. During this I learned how to use final cut express and how to edit the videos that me and my group made.
From this task I learned some important skills that can help me to improve or work better in future filming. One thing would be that to storyboard exactly what our video concept is and each stage that we will be filming, this includes where we are filming, what we are filming and how we are filming. This will make the process a lot quicker, easier and may enable editing to become more straight forward.
Another thing that I will need to consider is the filming itself, the equipment that the school provides is limited and may not enable filming to be the best that it can be, for example when we were filming certain shots were harder to create because the camera zoom in and
out was very obvious and did not flow properly.
The third thing that I learned during this task would be that I will need to take into consideration the surroundings and light where filming is taking place because if there is are loud noises coming from behind the scene backgrounds, for example people talking and wind this could disturb our filming and could effect the overall presentation of the video.
I was not happy with the group that I was put with because I felt that I did most of the work, the others didn't put many ideas forward and I had to take control of the task because of lack of communication in the group. I can look at this task as experience in group filming tasks and I now know what I will need to do in future filming to get the best grade possible.
